MANY moons ago there existed only a very few Tex Mex places ....
El Fenix was one of the first to show up on the horizon .....
They always produced pretty good food ...
not very spicy though and that lead the typical US citizens to like them bigtime ....
the older generations really liked them and still do .....
they are not as well known these days with the amount of pop ups in the paths since they started doing it , but a few still exist here and there .....
there is one not far from me in the old part of ft. worth ....
we stop by once in a while , its a never disappointing visit ....
a really big corona in a frosted mug with some lime slices is 7 bux ....
enough food to feed you twice was 14.50 ....
if you ever see one and are hungry you might consider stopping by ....
they still have them there "puffy" crispy tacos and I typically order one "chile toriado" on the side to bring on the heat .....just saying :Rofl
not a crappie , but for darn sure good food stuffs ....:cheers2
on a side note : they opened in this location in 1918 according to the website and started actually making tex mex in 1890 .....just fyi
