I wanted some smaller crappie sized chatter baits for my upcoming trip and made these up. Weights range from 1/8-3/16 oz. in the 2.5-3" range. Blades are smaller Booyah blades I found on ebay that I painted over the original red and chartreuse colors. Hardest part was attaching blades to the jig since I had to use two small split rings on these. Took me an hour to attach blades to these 7 baits, lots of curse words but I got them done. Beautiful work as always Jim. I would think they would work. Sounds very time consuming.
Best way to attach everything is to attach two split rings together and attach it to blade and then the jig last. Did one in under two minutes. Tried one briefly to see how they swim in the clear water below the trout park and they swim deeper than the standard flat eye hook baits with just one split ring and the action of the bait was incredible. No fish caught, too many swimmers in this section where the river meets with the cold spring water of the trout stream. Think these will be worth the effort.

Received the jigs I ordered and am pleasantly surprised at the quality of work. Gonna give the fish a chance to enjoy them also this weekend. Thanks Jim
Those look good to me Jim. I’ve never thrown a chatterbait but I have a few. I even bought a couple of the 1/16 Zman baits for me and a couple for Nino but I haven’t used em yet and I’ve gotten no input from Nino. Maybe I’ll tie em on if I get to go Saturday. Smaller blades are hard to find but did find smaller ones on Ali Express so I ordered two sizes. These smaller sizes should be great for bass and crappie. They have a great wiggle in the water, reminds me of a jointed Rapala. Thinking of attaching blades to a couple crank baits or topwater, love hybrid tackle baits.
