Outdoor Cooking Area
In the process of selling the boat, and getting the skanu...it has opened up other room, where the utility trailer was stored. We have a 5x10 utility trailer, it was stored under a lean too, at the rear of the detached garage. Behind the trailer, I put the smoker, griddle, old kitchen cabinet, and some "counter space".

The "subfloor" is pallets, 1/2' plywood on top of them, screwed to the pallets. The flooring was left over from other projects. Since the above pics taken, I added rollup tarps for the doorway and to cover the area of lattice by the counter, also added a shelf under the counter.
Now that the utility trailer and skanu are stored in a leantoo on a different side of this detached garage, that entire space is now open! Yay me!! This area is approximately 9'wx24'l.

The open area is where utility trailer had been. Roller has been relocated. If this where yours, how would you set it up? Move the griddle and smoker against the metal wall (to the left) ? That height is 8', the height by the lattice (to the right) is about 6'. Leave the counter space where it is? What about the rest of the space? I'm contemplating venting the smoker through the roof, once I decide on a location for it. Thoughts on that?
Any and all input is greatly appreciated!

Certainly is nice to have an outdoor kitchen

Nice area. Would be convenient to have. I think I would leave the layout alone if it works now. Never know when you might want that bit of open space. Next project, sheltered work area, storage, etc…

anything that makes smoke would be vented for me for sure , it will get way smokey in there is my thoughts and maybe hot as well , not sure but down here heat is a factor , walls might be a blessing on ugly days , but a real show stopper in the middle of the summer in these parts ....
looks nice though ,good luck on the remodel :highfive

Concrete the entire floor.
Build a bump out where the door is and put your smoker there. Vent through the roof and put a door to close it off.
Build cabinets along the metal wall
Build an island on wheels. Roll it wherever you need it. Also serve as a table to eat on.
Small fridge and a TV.

That’s view from other side of door.
Tlefire- if I did that, wife would never see me again! Wait, hhhmmmmm, I see what you’re saying now!
Oh, I forgot. See the sink upside down? That’s our old kitchen sink. I’m considering putting it out there also.

Oh yeah, you need water too........hose pipe to sink and drain it on the ground. Just no dirty water.
Just don't make the bump out as far. Could go even with the door.
