How do you fellows change your baits when you encounter finicky fish, that want even look or follow your bait as you pitch to them. I am having a time here in Georgia with these crappie that want even look at my bait, since water temps are getting hotter. I usually change to a 1/32 or a 1/64 oz bait, I try Bobby garlics itty bitty, hand ties that are 1 inch and less, change split shots to the smallest I can find, HELP.:banghead
Sounds like your trying the right stuff. I also change color baits too and fish SLOW. Sometimes they just don't want to bite. Move move move after giving them a sufficient try to fish hopefully more willing to bite.
Speed is something to try as well. Sometimes a spinner or crankbait buzzing by is what it takes to wake them up to attack instead of being passive.
i shoot a 1.2" fluke and use a 1/64 jighead...I use a slider weight above it to get it down quickly. you can check out my pics/baits on FB...Keith Tate is my personal FB page or "Black Sheep Jig Company"....we've had great success on all the SC/GA border lakes with these baits during the summertime.
might need some tail action ? or possibly blade action ? or possibly hand ties with really long flashy tails ?
or as stated move until you find some that want to bite and or look for the "bite window" .....
summer fish can be tricky , some spots here they only feed well early and or late in the day ....
saw that the other day myself , not much during the daylight and about 30 minutes after dark it was on fire
I was just talking about this yesterday, I wish I had more ideas for non eating crappie. I try downsizing even tied flurocarbon leaders, tipping with nibbles and minnows, hair jigs it seems sometimes you can get a reaction bite with a roadrunner other times not. Its the curse of the Livescope showing us what we dont want to see!
I believe SD is spot on. Might try adding an attractant such as SlabSauce or G Sauce to your arsenal.Quote:

I’ll back up Buckeyes statement. They like stinkie stuff when they’re undecided. I haven’t caught many lately myself and I’m throwing nothing but tiny stuff here lately while chasing some nice gills.
not sure if downsizing is key right now or not , it is more likely about scent or lack of and movements or not in my opinion
but to be sure when the going gets tough , try lots of different sizes and colors and scents ....
sometimes the silver bullet is the next drop ....just saying :highfive
