Uhhhh, yeah .... water level a little over 8ft above Summer Pool will take a while to settle out. It'll take the COE at least a week to bring it back to Summer Pool, once they can open enough gates to drop the lake ~1ft/day without flooding the land below the dam.
From the COE FB page :
Lake Level Update: as of 6:00 am lake level is 683.15 msl with a setting of 1/2 tenth on the main gates for an outflow of around 245 cfs (cubic feet of water per second). Surface Temperature: 60° F.
We anticipate opening up to 6 tenths on the main gates by days end. This will increase our outflow to around 2,449 cfs.
The lake is currently flooding, watch out for structures that are usually clearly seen that are now underwater as well as floating debris!
Thanks Pappy.
Les you might want to hold on to this site it'll help you keep track of the water levels.
Thanks for the web site.
I use these two :
Louisville District Daily Lake Report
Lake Levels in Kentucky, United States
I use the Lake Levels site because it also contains Cumberland & Herrington, plus it updates throughout the day (whereas the Louisville District Daily Lake Report only updates each morning).
