Good weather and friends.
Turkey Tom called and said MDC stocked so it was on. He had caught his limit night before so not going. I called mac, John and Paul to let them know and get them to meet me at souson since it was closest for all of us and we hadn't got together since last winter.
Hit the lake and mac was there along with bunch of others. We had a spot we like anyway open and started fishing. No one was ketchn but they were either using dough or jigging edges. I decided to use my favorite spinner and throw in middle. After few casts KABOOM happened. Got a real good one on and as it has concrete sides glad mac had his long handled net. Course if you know mac he stabbed at it bunchbof times and almost went into lake!. Finally got it and put it in my bucket.
Then tossed again and KABOOM again. Did net myself and got it in. Then KABOOM after couple more casts. Few more and I had my fourth for limit. You have to understand during this flurry my buddy John showed up fir the show and NO ONE ELSE DID ANY KETCHN. They were all staring and I felt little guilty but oh well. Kinda used to it.
Called mac over to my spot and he had switched to my spinner and Boom he got his first fish. Then a second fairly quickly. John started casting at my spot and took a while but caught two. One guy moved right next to us and started ketchn and got his limit using small jig.
Paul showed up and set up his usual rig which is dough an took long time but finally got one.
Cool thing is the area fish biologist cam over and started chatting. Told us he has whole metro area and where he gets the fish to stock urban areas which is Montauk. Plus where they got them from originally. Nice guy and a college of ozarks grad which we had toured when we were in Branson. They work at college to earn tuition.
Anyway weather was really mild and ketchn and visiting was great. We did better than most there.
Thought it strange couple were filled with roe other with milt sacs.Attachment 478231Attachment 478232Attachment 478233
