Maybe those Seals were looking for a crappie handout.
When the Gun Boats pass on plane they are usually 2-4 boats in a row. Well the wake they throw times 4 is totally unmanageable and best to just get out of their way. Now they will slow if they see you but the nature of River Crappie fishing is you're half hidden quite often. Lots of stories of broken boats to broken legs from these massive boat wakes in a compounded fashion. We usually can fish covered areas where the wakes can't get to us but the recent cool down of the water along with 2ft+ tides has moved most all the fish out to the main waterways where the Seal Boats run.
I used to ride in those boats and they are one awesome ride. Takes a skilled coxswain for sure. I have fond memories. Thanks for sharing and congratulations to y’all.
