Pecan Sandies Anyone?
Probably posted this before, but I made the first batch of many for the holiday season yesterday and man oh man were they good and I decided to share them (again)! It's just not Christmas without a tin canister full of these little white powdered sugar pecan sandies! Mom always made them and since she had to leave us in 2020, it's been up to me to carry on the tradition. Dad is 82 now, and always expects a batch in July for his birthday and again at Christmas. If any of you are looking for an easy WOW for your holiday gathering, here it is!!!!!! I usually make a double-batch........they do go fast!

Pecan Sandies
2 sticks softened salted butter (I always use real butter)
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp water
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup chopped pecans
powdered sugar to roll them in after they bake
With your electric mixer, cream together butter, granulated sugar, vanilla, & water. Then add flour & chopped pecans and mix until it forms a dough ball. Chill for at least one hour, then form into walnut size balls and bake at 325-350 for around 30-40 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown. Let them cool completely, then roll in powdered sugar. Makes around 40 cookies.

Thanks for sharing. I think I’m going to make some of these this year. I have tons of pecans that broke when shelling and would work perfectly in these. And I love cookies :ThumbsUp
