I usually use the Quicksilver 4 stroke marine oil 20W 50.
Walmart was out today so I bought the Lucas brand.
Anyone on here ever used the Lucas?

I have in my truck and tractors. I find it to be excellent quality. You should be fine.
Lucas I’ve always thought well of, but my previous honda 50 and yamaha 90 I always ran Mobil 1

In any 4 Stroke Marine Engine a oil designed for the stresses of Marine use must be used. I love Mobil 1, I run it in everything I own, but it is not the oil you want in a 4 Stroke outboard. Yamaha Yama-Lube is about the best 4 Stroke oil you can buy. Quicksilver is very good too. Look at the pictures I posted in the Mechanic's Corner of the emulsion in that F250 Yamaha 4 Stroke. This engine ran all the way out to the barrier islands, spent the day going out to eat, and a cocktail cruise without a change in performance or damage. When the operator saw the engine smoking he turned the engine off. Now it was smoking because the entire crankcase was filled with oil/water emulsion. If a lesser oil was used catastrophic engine damage would be the story. Today I will flush out the water thru a series of oil & filter changes then it has to go to the shop for Head Gaskets. I don't Time 4-Strokes! One tooth off on a Interference Engine and the Powerhead is Toast.
