What's Your Ideal Crappie Fish Pegged Weight Size??

*No matter if you are Open Water, or Fishing Structure.

What is your ideal Pegged Crappie Weight Size? I toggle between a tad bit over 1/16th oz & 1/8th oz above my jig. I've heard of Pro's using 1/4th oz & 1/2 oz in shallow water like clock work but that doesn't fit my fishing skillz. :fingerdance:yikes. Sound off on yours or don't sound off.. :biggrin:popcorn I'm still going to boat me a limit tomorrow 10-8-23 when I go regardless. :Rofl I just need to talk about fishing because it's driving me nutz not being able to go right now. :crazy:

Oh 1 lb crappie eat mighty fine! :Rofl I use 1/32 or 1/16th jigheads with no addl. weight.

My go to is 1/48oz and 1/64oz jigheads size 8 hooks for dock shooting. I’ve noticed it’s not a common size but it works good for my area.

:ThumbsUp Got it Buckeye you don't pegg any weight & only use your jig head. Understood... Every person's style is different that's what makes fishing fun. :biggrin When fishing 1mph - 5mph under 10foot I will go with no weight also, but I've found when you are fishing & stumble across that OPEN ROAMING HAWG dat Pegged weight helps get that bait to the fish faster before she swims away. Just a preference. :cheers2

Here you go Fredo... I didn't know anyone responding wouldn't know what a Pegged Weight was. :ThumbsUp It's the weight used above the Lure used to fish. Example:

Got it TBass89 & I understand. So you too are not using a Pegged Weight System. You and Ole Buckeye are just using the weight from the Jig Head only. It's a different gear set up. :ThumbsUp

I didn't realize people would be thrown to not understand what Pegged Weight Setup was for Crappie. Buckeye ALL I DO IS SINGLE POLE.. :Rofl I aint trolling missing out on DAT THUMP!!!!!! :Doh: The weight above just helps get the jig down there faster for us is all. I have a bunch of poles so when I hang up I just jump to the next rigged up one. I wouldn't know how to Troll for Crappie. :Rofl:biggrin I would starve to death if I had to do that. rotfl
