Weekly meetup 9-20-23

Met up with my fishing buddy this morning around 10 at one of our favorite boat ramps .
The weather was nice , mid 70’s by the time we got there .
The lake was down about another foot .
I fished a couple of Abu Garcia Mass Beat III’s , a 6’3” , 4 piece light , and a two piece 6’ UL . Both had Shimano Soare XR 500spg reels a pond two pound test Floroclear.
I swapped between the rods and lures . Mainly hand tied jigs and mini Trout Magnets .
The majority of the fish we caught we small . My big fish of the day was a shellcracker that put a nice bend in the 6’3” light rod and made several runs making the Soare XR sing .
My buddy’s biggest was a nice UL spotted bass of about a pound and a half caught on a roostertail .
It had gotten into the low 80’s by the time we left for home around three o’clock .
I caught fifty five total , my buddy forty seven.
Any day we can catch over a hundred fish no matter what the size , it a good day .

Some pretty fish for sure. Shoot I’d love to have 55 thumps no matter the size.

A hundred fish! Man, what a day. So good to hear about a trip like that. They don’t happen often and the smile they leave lasts for days. Good Job Guys!!!
