Crappie Sliders

Ok… so I just watched some old videos of Whitey Outlaw fishing the Charlie Brewer Crappie Sliders. Awesome stuff!

I’m going to order a few packs to try, myself. Before I do… what suggestions/ tips can you fellas give me on fishing with sliders? Is there a preferred water depth or time of day/year that is best?

I usually fish Trout Magnets or Crappie Magnets by just casting them up by a lay down and reeling them in real slow (no float). Would this same method work well for Crappie Sliders?

I like to cast them on the 1/8 oz. Slider weedless heads. I can crawl them right over brush and limbs. Usually get bit right after bumping over a limb.

Yep .... pretty much any way you'd fish the Magnets, the Sliders will work just fine.

I never cared for their jigheads, so I just used my regular ballhead weedless jigheads, casting them to cover. They work pretty good for Pushing, as well. (I used open hook jigheads when Pushing)

I know everyone has their favorite colors, but I've always had the best luck on the Junebug/chartreuse.

Like everyone else said many ways to fish them. I enjoy the tail action on Charlie Brewers and think it drives the fish crazy. Here is my last order from them. I also sometimes cut them down for a smaller profile.

it is frustrating that the only video's on youtube are ancient and grainy and don't really show you specifics that I find worthwhile. I always have some with me as I am fishing brush all the time and pretty good at getting out of it but there are times when you really have to get deeper down to ketch and that's when they shine. I really like their jig heads and how you can bury the hook in plastic but make sure you go all the way thru it and then pull it back or your ketch rate per strike will not be good.

I too like the junebug/chatreuse.

Glad to see you are representing! Thanks for the picture.

I'm a big fan of the Junebug color also. I will tell you that smallmouth/largemouth bass will attack them, get that drag set. I keep most colors but keep going back to junebug and the motor oil with red glitter colors.

Nice! Thank you for sharing. I’ve ordered some in the Junebug color, as it seems everyone on here recommends that one. Excited to try them out.
