right at 100 degrees was the temp. at 11 am was when we ketched our FRY ......just saying :Rofl
right off the dock in the shade with a butterfly net and EXACTLY 2 dips and 30 plus in the coffee can , just saying
then run fast to the aquarium before the heat gets to you and them ...... rotfl

I need to try this with my girls. Been wanting something else in my aquarium besides those minnows. Would really love a black crappie.
I used to raise bass and crappie in the aquarium about 35 years ago. I'd feed them mosquito larvae that I'd net out of the bird bath with a minnow net.
Found out right quick that rocks in the bottom of the tank gave the skeeters something to hide in. Started getting mosquitoes in the house
that hatched out of the fish tank. I took the rocks out and left them fewer places to hide. I'd also got Mosquitofish (Gambusia affinis) to help
keep them in control and be a possible food source. Whatever you do, don't put crawdads in the aquarium, or they'll grab and eat your fish.

Raised a few of them from babies, the stonefish was the size of a grape when I got it and I gave it up at about baseball size to a friend. The green blenny wolf eel I got when it was a baby was just terribly cool to feed . It would strike so fast and hard that it often drove its head clean thru its prey !
Beyond all that , I had tanks full of stuff all over the place. Some were simply freshwater native fish , some not so much . Wasn’t near as expensive back when as it is now to acquire cool critters and in some cases , we would horse trade a bit , my whatever for your whatever…:Rofl

I did mostly freshwater tanks. The Ph in the well water here allowed me to grow some superior plants, which I traded for tropical fish or feeder fish for my native species tank. I don't keep or raise fish anymore. I've been scuba diving for 30 years to get my marine species fix. I'm convinced that watching fish react and interact in their native environment underwater has helped me become a better fisherman.
