Shimano Soare XR c2000sspg , Daiwa 21 Presso LT 1000s revisited
I took my Shimano Soare c2000sspg and Daiwa 21 Presso LT 1000s-p fishing this morning.
Both were paired with a 6’3” Abu Garcia Mass Beat 3 rods and 2# Floroclear line .
Mini Trout Magnets on a streamer hook/tungsten bead jig head .
I got to Lake McIntosh around 8:30 this morning and left a little after 11:00. It was sunny , with temps in the low 80’s to upper 80’s when I left . A little breeze and a spot of shade at the end of the dock I fished from most of the time , kept it bearable.
The Presso was up first and I caught twelve gills and shellcracker before switching rods , including the biggest shellcracker of the day , which I hand lined over the rail , not wanting to try and lift with the rod . I need to start taking a net . I worried one kick from the cracker would have snapped my line .
I finished up the morning with the Soare XR and ended up with a total of 29 gills , shellcrackers, and a small redbreast . 3-6” was the size except for a few nice ones .
I wanted to try both reels with 2# Floroclear and with a longer rod .
Both of these combos were sweet to fish with , especially with the micro baits .
I was casting 40-50’ with the both using the homemade jigs .
Both reels are super smooth and again I feel like the Soare has a slight edge over the Presso . It’s not much , but I could tell the difference when I first cranked the handle on the Soare XR after fishing the Presso .
Both have found a permanent home with me .
BTW I just checked Digitaka and they have the 21 Presso lt1000s for $279.91. Not a bad price .
