Cool find. The Penn is a good r eel if it hasn’t been ignored. I’ve been told that there’s no such thing as an antique Penn reel. Every part for every Penn ever made is supposed to be still available.
Here goes ,keepin mind 2 of the Mitchell’s have now been cleaned and serviced,1 Mitchell needs a complete tear down and refinish, the 4200ss works good but just needs a cleaning.here they are in that orderAttachment 467552Attachment 467553Attachment 467554Attachment 467555
That’s a great day ar the yard sale! I keep my eyes open as well when we stop.
The4200ss was missing the drag and the, what I would say was the anti reverse switch, does not disengage to run backwards and is called an eccentric switch so I’m not sure about that but I don’t fight fish that way but there is no connection to the dog there anyway unles something’s missing or broke that I don’t see any help?I just ordered the dtag parts
I finally figured out the anti reverse on the Penn 4200ss
In the end I disconnected the AR for now and installed a HT100 drag with a new spring and washer so,all is good, I never use reverse to fight fish anyway.
