Trolling motor tray
Has anyone on here ever pulled out their trolling motor tray and replaced it with wood and covered it with carpet? Can it be braced up good enough to stand on? I hate that thang it’s just not comfortable to fish with, would rather be able to move my foot control to my comfort, expecially if I put a double seat up front, now I could not reach it if I used the way it is.+Cross+

The trolling motor tray is what I am talking about, sorry for the mess up on my typing.

Here is what I did to my Tracker 175. I used a custom cut HDPE cutting board . I removed the tray and drilled the cutting board holes to match the tray. I reinstalled the tray with the cutting board over it. I had to use slightly longer screws but it worked well.

did you screw the foot pedal down? Doing it this way, was it a trip hazard loading and unloading your boat by yourself, having to come in and out of the boat from the front? Could you of moved the foot control closer to you, my problem is I cannot reach the foot pedal from the back of the seat, makes it way uncomfortable, you feel it in your back the next day.

I just pit two stainless screws that the slots on the bottom of the foot pedal went over. I could move it as needed this way. It didn’t affect me getting in the boat cause it was out of the way until I put it on the cutting board.

Saw yesterday on utube a fellow cut some floor sponge material out to fit the hole until it came up about even with top and last piece of sponge material he cut to fit trolling motor foot pedal and tray and foot petal did not slip around.
