Rod holders mounted on front deck pulling cranks?

I want to start pulling crank baits with pontoon recently acquired. I’d like input on where’s best place to mount rodholders? The rear section of boat is 4ft tall and read lower to water is better. I moved side panels back to have a 65” fishing platform in front, and like the idea of the rod holders on floor of front deck, be using 8-10-12ft rods but wondering if front will cause a lot of problems??? Sorry bout sideways pic, it was vertical when loaded it up but on here it’s sideways. Any advice will be appreciated

If you’re going to pull cranks the holders should be in the back or on the sides. You could rail mount some rod holders on your rig. Running them up front would be pushing your baits which is another method. You can set your boat up to do either method or both. You have a nice clean slate to get started with.

Thanks for the incite. Imma mount a couple on the front deck on sides and a couple on the high back layout platform and try them both. Mainly I’m afraid of front deck side mount “pushing” getting line in my outboard no matter how wide the turns. We cast and vertical jig but pulling and/or pushing cranks seems interesting and great way when I’ve got folks that have no fishing experience. Thanks

I mounted 4 holders on back, already had 4 holders on rail in front. Used 1oz Carolina rig drop weight and 4ft leader in front pushing shad raps and used road runners with small swim bait out back just making lkng cast and let it swing straight behind the boat. Trollled thru places I’ve always caught em and can’t believe I didn’t do this years ago. Caught 14crappie and ton of white bass. If white bass hadn’t tangled me so many times I’d caught limit crappie. Two rods in front and 4 off back is way to much keep up with one person too. Trial and error The fight wasn’t much just skiing them in, have get a long handle net lost bunch boat flipping in and tangled didn’t keep fish yesterday anyway didn’t bring cooler with ice. Mike baker is right lmao “I gotta go,but imma make one more pass” Back when I was hard core tryin catch walleye, I almost bought planer boards and all that but glad I didn’t. Walleye are Pima.

Congratulations. I want to get after some Walleye in Lake Erie. They are a good eating fish as well.

Yessir on Erie walleye and north country fishing for them. I’d love to go somewhere they’re easier to find, seem like north lakes full walleye. Walleye here hard track down and most time dang hard to get to bite till moon change, weather change, or something triggers them. Fished hard for over 20yrs for them and only got 6fish limit 5times. Worst thing now with livescope is seeing them there and they won’t eat bait only biting tails off lol
