Ok fellas...I have heard that somebody on here knows of a device that you can use to keep your boat from banging into trees as yer tied off.
I understand its made from PVC and rope which keeps the boat and tree yer tied to from getting together.
The pleasure boaters sure do stir up the waves and my boat is gettin all scarred up.:(
I use the Dock Bumpers on mine, in timber and under bridges they are 12 dalllors at BPS
I think they may be running the rope through the PVC pipe then tying off. This would keep you at least the distance of the pipe length fron the tree. Why not just toss an anchor off the back and tie off the front?

If you have two trees close enough, but not too close, you can tie a rope to each tree and pull yourself in the middle of them, so that your boat is not touching either one of them. Most of the time, you can't be lucky, but I have couple of spots that I can do that in.
Here is what I use. Also useing sinking rope will make it easier to put the loop on branches that are below the surface of the water.
Saw a guy on Smithville with a "stump snare" similar to LBM's--- Made tying up quick and simple. No more rodeo acts trying to lasso a stump that is just out of reach. Two of them will keep a boat from banging other stumps and spooking the fish. The lake has timber that grabs a lot of anchors. I just keep forgetting to make a couple... until I'm on the lake, trying to lasso a stump that sticks up 2" from the lake surface :(
I use pretty much the same thing except the rope runs back through the cap right next to the hole that it passed through the first time. You can make them any length you want, I have several that are about 4' long and then one or two that are shorter for the times the stumps are closer than I can use with the longer ones.Quote:
