I NEED YOUR HELP FAST on a bank chair bucket

I went to the flea market yesterday and found an old football stadium seat for a couple of bucks. Yep, I bought it with the idea of using it for fishing.

The concept is to take this seat, mount it to a padded five gallon bucket swivel so that I end up with a swiveling bucket seat for bank fishing.

I am thinking about mounting the seat to a 22" x 12" block of plywood and then using four inch bolts and washers to mount the seat to the swivel. Do I take the padded seats off then mount to a board and then repad????

I think you could just bolt it up, but use a piece of board in front to make it sit with a slant to the back, be careful cause I believe it will tip you over if your not careful.

I second the fact that it could easily tip over with you. That's a lot of additional leverage with a very unstable base. Be very careful if you try it.

I agree with what's already been said. With that said, you need to find out what kind of swivel the bucket has, provided that's the bucket your going to use, which will ruin the padded top on that one.
The easiest way to do it is get you another bucket with a lid, a swivel for a boat seat, and some wood. The way I would do it is sandwich the lid between two pieces of wood, like 3/8 plywood cut about the size of the inside of the bucket. Mark them with the pattern of the mounting holes for the swivel, then drill. you'll only need bolts about 1-1/2" long (for the bottom) some flat washers ( also called fender washers) and I would use nylock nuts. you will also need a rectangular piece of wood the size of the chair. Mount that to the top of the swivel before mounting it to the chair. Once mounted to the swivel and secure, mount your seat to that board. Again, you will only need some short bolts and nuts so it don't interfere with the turning of the swivel. the seat swivel can be gotten in sporting goods at Walmart, or Academy Sports or most any outdoor sports big box stores. Buckets and lids can be gotten at Walmart, Lowes, and all hardware stores, usually near the paint dept.. Hope this Helps you figure it out Mike. Hopefully the bucket will have water and some Crappie in it. Still trying to see if it is worth pursuing this idea.

I would want to reinforce the lid to make it more sturdy. Leaning back would put a lot of pressure on it.
