Marabou is my nemesis. It looks like someone killed a turkey in my workshop.
I've tied feathers for treble hooks, bucktail on saltwater jigs, made plenty of spinnerbait skirts from living rubber / silicone / etc... But marabou is kicking my behind for some reason. Maybe it's because my eyes and hands are getting older. Maybe I'm just not patient enough for marabou. I don't know. But I've scrapped a bunch of them, and so far, this is the best I've been able to tie. I'm not giving up, mind you. I'm just stepping away from the workbench because it looks like someone killed a turkey or chicken over here. Little feathers everywhere. Desk, floor, clothing, face (how did I get them on my face and in my hair?) :Rofl
Much respect for those of you who tie marabou on a regular basis "like it's nothing". It's definitely a skill.
All the best,
Glenn

Keep a small shallow container on hand so you can put a sponge in it and fill with water. Wet your finger tips by pressing down on the wet sponge and wipe them down the maribou barbels. It’s much easier to deal with damp maribou than dry. Less flyaways, etc.
