Kayak Trip Report, Moulton New City Lake
I decided to chase some more big Gills today. Lots of beds, but no fish on any of them. I ended up fishing a one-inch slider on a 1/32 oz jig head on outside weed edges in 8 to 10 feet deep. I returned numerous large Crappie plus, bass, Shellcracker and endless Gills. I decided to keep half a limit of Gills for lunch tomorrow, most of the ones I tossed in the cooler were between 9 and 10 inches. The water was clear with visibility of about 6 feet and 80 degrees.
FYI, they've done some improvements to the put in with a gravel parking lot large enough for about four vehicles with trailers and a small boat ramp. Pretty easy to get into and out of now.
