Tournaments
Do any of you fish tournaments? Me and my buddy are thinking about getting into some local tournaments and I was wondering what all was involved? I know that they are not cheap, but I think it would be fun, as well as challenging to see where we were at!
Will most likely try tourneys in KY only at first!

We've got a local circuit and I've fished a few. They are fun and great chance to meet some other crappie nuts. Entry fee was less than $100 for a team. Two divisions and D2 in only for people who are not licensed guides so makes it somewhat fair.

Everything changes when money is involved. Not that it isn’t fun but some folks behave differently.

been in few , don't care for the desperate to be on the podium thing , seen the cheating in at least 2 of the tournaments out of the 4 I been a part of , and it just ain't my thing , some love it , but it isn't why I go to the water .....
some have noticed in the past that I have a zero clue who is who in the world of crappie competitive angling and that is because I rarely if ever follow anything tourney related , except for avoiding any lake one is currently occurring on ....

If I ever try it will be my wife and I in a local deal. Most likely we will just keep fishing together and enjoying life together and loving each other’s company. Life is too short and in the end you might win, might not. Give er a shot locally first for sure. The big tournaments are too pricey for our wallets too.

Give it a shot, if you have fun, enjoy!
I have a personal problem, I go all in on things, and by the time I realized and came to terms with the amount of sacrifice it was going to take to be where I wanted to be - it almost ruined fishing for me. But finally wrapped my head around it and do what I enjoy again. Again, as long as it’s enjoyable great. But if starts feeling like work, cut it loose and don’t beat yourself up over it!

Me and my solo canoe don't fit too well in a tournament.
