2 short trips
Two short trips today ,
One this morning to the Town pond where I got to fish for about forty minutes with my 6’3” Abu Garcia Mass Beat and Trout magnets , before the rain ran me off the lake .
I only had a short time to fish anyways , as I had to be somewhere around noon .
Then this afternoon, I got to fish a local reservoir for almost an hour while my wife was getting her hair done.
I started off using my 4’6” Daiwa Trout X rod but switched to my Abu Garcia MB because the little Trout X felt way too short .
I was trying out the shorter rod to see if I wanted to order a 4’10” Major Craft glass rod .
I think I’ll stick with the rods in the 6’ to 7’ range .
At the pond I caught a small LM , and a pretty Bluegill . But lost another bigger bass.
At the reservoir, I caught two green sunfish, a small warmouth, and a medium sized bluegill .
But I also lost the biggest fish of the day , a nice bass that hit while jigging the riprap , ripped off about twenty yards or more line , jumped and threw the hook .
At least I got to see it .
The areas available to fish locally are heavily fished and so anything I catch is great .

And not to blow smoke at you but to be able to fish heavy traffic waters, or fish behind someone else, and catch fish, is a testament to your skills. I deal with it all the time on the river and while I don’t load the cooler, I leave feeling good about the trip. Glad you got out. I got off early today and ran errands and tried to play mechanic but got defeated and wasn’t able to change the part needed. Rust and 270,000 miles had something to do with it. I quit before I did more damage. Your day was lots more fun. Good Job!!
