Looks good. I like the little bit of blue showing. I assume from the flash.
Nice
Beautiful!
I likes!
You had me at bucktail. Hands down my favorite tail. Just more productive for me. My opinion is the smell of bucktail. Heck when I pull it out, our cat goes crazy for it trying to get. I don’t see many people using for crappie ties. Don’t know if it’s just harder to work with or not visually appealing. I think the later.
Thanks Guys!
Yeah, DrNip, bucktail works well for sure.
My ties are usually bucktail or faux bucktail, though the Hackle Hair looks pretty good too.
Using these materials allows for various thicknesses of the hair for different effects from a thin mirage look to a more solid appearance.
It's also just fun to add a few hairs for highlights to provide a variety of colors on one jig.
Not sure about the smell but bucktail definitely does well with the fishes.
It also fits my preferred way to tie which is mostly deciding on what to do/use step by step instead of a preconceived notion of what I want the jig to be. This is not good for consistency but the results are all different in some way.
Depending on how you look at it, that inconsistency between jigs might not be a benefit, but I like it.
More fun for me that way and allows for some experimentation.
