Broken Eradicator real finesse STS

Well it happened to me. I broke the rod taking it out of the case. Went fishing last Friday evening with the wife. Was taking it out of the case when I heard a snap. Not sure what exactly happened, I had it rigged up in the case and think the jig hook caught on the bag. Very disappointed in myself.Attachment 458704

Used 2 sewing needles and some epoxy to piece it back together over the weekend.
Tried it out in the pond after work today. Caught a couple bluegill/sunfish for 3 to 7 inches and one smaller bass. I wouldn't say it's good as new but it will have to do.

Hate to hear that. I’ve never broke one in the case but got one hung up. Cut the line and never put a rigged rod in the case again.

While an extremely long shot - reach out to Digitaka, Plat, or JDMtackleheaven to see if they can source you a replacement top section.

Sorry to hear this - been there done that and it ain't fun :(

I was able to get a replacement handel for a STS from JDM tackel heaven for a bud who broke his handel. I placed the order in Nov. took me until March of this year to get but they were able to do it. Worth checking. Scott

Yes, probably worth checking to see if you can get a replacement. In the meantime you can keep going.

I broke my STS tip section (trolling motor got it) and was able to obtain a new tip section from Digitaka. This was May 2022. I repaired the broken section similar to yours, but I used a piece of guitar string. I keep it as a spare. I posted about it..

Sorry to hear about this. I know it’s like losing a friend when a good rod goes down. Hope you can locate a replacement.
