SHIPAHOY41 IS A NEW CONVERT...... VIDEO
Folks,
I will be the first to admit that in these past 77 years I have been hard headed, stubborn and reluctant to change what I knew to be true. I make no bones about loving to use slip floats to fish especially the pool noodle slip floats that I handcraft.
When it came to fishing near the bottom where 90 to 95% of the fish go to eat, I used to use the Modified Lindy Rig or the Carolina Rig to fish the bottom. Last week, on Tuesday, a fellow friend and I decided to go Perch and Shellcracker fishing. He said he could use a drop shot and out fish me five fish for every one I caught on the Lindy Rig. I accepted the challenge.
Well He out fished me seven to one and I was converted. I spent the next four days doing nothing but looking at You Tube videos on Drop Shotting panfish. I am hard headed and stubborn no more. Just saying.... If you have not done the drop shot fishing from the bank, you are missing a great opportunity. You can cast farther and reach the deeper weed lines on the bottom of the lake where the fish eat. Tie your lure on the line with a Palomar knot and then put the tag end back through the eye of the hook to add your sinker on. This makes sure that your hook faces upward and will catch you more fish.
