Your "Artist Rendition" is quite impressive now all I need is a farm pond. Didn't think to try this on flats near the channel on The Rez, bet it would work there as well. You provide a simple solution to a too much wind day anchoring off and casting in.

we have more high wind days out west of dfw than not and to be sure this scenario is often the ticket on them windblown days even on the big lakes , and besides all that casting way out there to them makes it way more fun to crank them back in from a long distance away :cheers2
thing is about farm pond crappie is they don't seem as affected by cold fronts or weather conditions as big lake ones. When you have a small lake like this one obviously filled with big crappie and most likely not near enough taken out it can lead to major KABOOM and loads o fun and filled coolers. WTG Outlaw!
