Keeping it short ....
Was the ticket , about 2 foot under a float and hitting a spot we knew might very well be in the mood for giving up what we sought .
We tipped bare jigs mostly with nightcrawlers and since the women folk in the family were on this adventure ....pink crappie nibbles ....rotfl
Our hopes were high that the bluegill would be in short water and wanting to get frisky and to be sure we were not in the least bit disappointed nonono
We ketched us a bit of all the fish with one exception and I have a zero clue why , not a single crappie came to hand out of well over 100 fish ? :dono
Best parts included a pair of dandy red ears my young one ketched and the infamous BIG battle my wife had with a big channel kat on her micro bluegill set up ....it sure don't get much better than the hammer festival we had . :cheers2
They appear to be ready to spawn and might even be on beds as the kiddo was wearing them down right close to the bank.
Man did we blow them fisheez up ....good times for sure ....
KABOOM is the word
p.s. all released to go on about what we interrupted.
1/32 number 6 jigs painted pink on ( of course ) 6 lb. mono and ultralights, late afternoon. :highfive
