Someone just asked me a question about Henderson and I thought my answer might benefit someone else so I will post it here..
"Hi...I am flattered that Danny thinks I know Henderson...it is one of the most difficult places I have ever fished....you got hi water, low water, muddy water, fast water, slow water, etc...the last 2 years it has been tough...the fish move around a lot looking for healthy water, so you have to search for them...don't stay too long in one place if you are not catching...look for other boats, they probably are on fish..there is a water gage by the public launch in Pelba (Pelba gage....google it)....water may go from Elev. 6' up to 16'..I like 8' to 12' but will fish anytime the weather permits no matter the water level...I will fish all over, north or south flats, Pelba, Bigeaux, Dogleg canal area, woods at the end of dogleg...I will use jigs but I "prefer shiners"...I also "spider rig' a lot when it's good...(4 poles)...I will tight line but like a slip cork better...my favorite jig colors are black and chartreuse or blue and white..my 2 best tips are move if you are not catching and watch where other boats are fishing....you need electronics so you can see depth, fish, thermocline, bait fish balls, and water temp....hope this helps...good luck..."
