Amazing what these guys can stuff in their mouth!
Bob
Lil fighters. That’s the future 2 lb sammich!
They got to eat also
I was fishing a four inch long Rapala top water plug and got into a spot that had bass fingerlings about two inches long. The fingerlings attacked that plug like a group of piranhas. I was hooking up two to as many as six at a time. The little bass could only get one hook of the three on a treble hook hence the reason for the multiple hook ups. Have know idea why they were attacking the larger lure.
I've always been told if it could fit in their mouths they would try eating it, even if larger than them. :yikes
They are aggressive little fish ! Kaboom!
seen an article done by Tom Mann back when in the late 60eez ,he kept two largemouths in a tank ,to watch the interaction .
one was 2 inches long the other 1.75 inches long , day 2 of the observation the 2 inch had the 1.75 about halfway down its throat and over about 4 or 5 days eventually swallowed it and ate it ....
in some cases some fish will eat fish almost as big as themselves , Oscars in a tank are these fish ....they will often eat their friends that are "almost" as big as they are too ....:Rofl
