Long story short, after working our way through the debris field, we located it. They determined that it was probably inoperable and had most likely drifted away due to the high water. Unbelievable response from Gaston and Mecklenburg. Fire, Police and D.N.R. were all involved. Thankfully, no rescue or recovery was needed. After all that excitement, I actually started fishing around 9:30. Stayed until 3:30. Fished near Withers mostly. Kept a limit. Threw back a bunch of small ones.
