Wish I could help you out, but I don't use weed guards. but you could try poking the weed guard up inside the tube to where you think it should come out, push it through the tube and follow with the weight to seat it inside the tube. once in position push the eye through the body. Sounds hard but I'm pretty sure it can be done. Good luck with your dilemma.
Never thought about it. Now I am curious
I remember long ago when I actually bass fished trying to figure this out. This video made it look easier than what I did....lol.
I knew there was a way. Thanks for the share SD
Thanks SuperD!
Exactly what I’m looking for.
Lately the fishing has been dead slow, but I’m having a blast shooting weedless jigs on Slip Bobbers into the gnarliest tree lined banks you can imagine. LOL
My favorite weedless jig has bristle weed guards. Never was a le to give the Y-guards a try yet. Does anyone have a source for the Y-guard jigs or even the Y-guards themselves? Happy to make them if I can get the guards.
Dave, thanks for the links. But the jig mold’s smallest size is 1/4oz. I fish 1/16 & 1/32.
I rec’d the ESB Bobbers today. I tied 6# mono using a 1/32 jig head for testing and it looks like the fall is smoother than other slip bobbers I’ve tried. But will have to test in fishing conditions to know for sure.
I was able to source some 3mm x 5mm carbon fiber rigid tubing on Amazon. Plan to play with making some myself.
As you can see in the image, I was able to follow the instructions in the video linked above to put a tube jig on a weedless ball head tube jig .
