Destin area
I will be staying in the Destin area mid July. Our location has a private boat dock. I am considering taking my boat with me. Can Yall give me your opion. Anything worth catching in the bay that time of year....is it to much troubl??? House is the blue circle.

Never fished there myself, I live closer to Crystal River and Cedar Key. Most likely Redfish some of them way over slot size would be a likely fish to target. Floridasportsman.com has a NW and Panhandle Florida section where you may find some real information.

Redfish on the oyster bars, trout anywhere there's grass, flounder, Spanish Mack's sometimes, etc -
Don't bother to fish unless the tide's moving - Simplest rig is a popping cork and a jig tipped with shrimp or Gulp minnow -
Use a clear leader that can take some abrasion.
Can also wade fish, some places - A cool way to do it, but please shuffle your feet - Stingrays !!
Over simplifying, I know, but you'll figure it out and catch something, I'm sure :~)

I've lived in Ft. Walton. It's all about the beach and eating in that area. Just go enjoy. But if you absolutely need to fish, they used to have half day charters for reasonable rates on group boats. .
