Shiners or Tuffies and why?

I prefer shiners. They are usually larger which I like and have more flash which I think will attract the fish's attention better. Just my opinion.

I have better luck with tuffies

Truffles because that is what is available in my area

when I use Shiners, I tend to catch more Bass and Cats. Tuffies is the way to go. Hook thru the mouth and out of the nostril.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your thoughts. I've always used tuffies just cause that's what dad used. I considered shiners for bass around here smallmouth.

My dad talks about catching creek minnows with an uncle when he was young. I checked a couple creeks near me and I see some tiny bream but not what I would consider minnows.

Get you a minnow trap and put some bread in it. Give it a few hours, You'll get some! Place it on the banks.
