I fish Bayou Black, and Amelia this time of year. Also fish the spillway when the water is favorable. We are having a heck of a time finding any Sacs. The other fishermen we talk to on the water are saying the same. We generally fish weekly. I hope others in our area are not experiencing this.
If the fish haven’t started to spawn yet, when can we expect it to occur?

I haven't feeshed dat area in years, but I'd bet most feesh have spawned. I'd try feeshing deepest water dat has lay-downs, grass , and or some current.

That far south most are probably spawned out and in cover about 8-10 ft deep.
A few males should be on the trees tho.
I do good a day after a good rain with water rising and a south breeze.
Fish tight to the cypress.

Yea, spawn has been over. Some fish still have eggs, holding them for some reason. We had good spawn conditions again this year so our populations should rebound well from the 5 years+ of battering from Storms.
