Yamaha prop help....
I bent my propellarshaft and have the lower unit in the shop getting a shaft and seal replaced. Also bent the original Yamaha prop beyond repair. My question is.. for the replacement prop i can eithe ruse a Yamaha prop with pressed in bearing or use a Mercury prop with a rubber hub kit.. just wonder which option is better (less likely to damage a prop shaft)
Motor is a Yamaha F90TLR and original prop was a 13.75" diameter by 13 pitch.

If it were me I would use original equipment. Not the correct answer just WIWD

I'd say the proof is kinda in the pudding there. If the old Yamaha prop tore up the lower unit then I'd say a new one is going to do the same thing.

I guessed he banged the lower unit and prop into something….:dono

The new hub kits have a plastic insert that is designed to break during a hard impact which in theory should save the lower unit components. They work, don't ask me how I know....

Even though they break, one's never left me stranded.
