Going to need trolling batteries soon. I do pull cranks and want to long line some Want to switch to lithium. Have a 24v ultrex on a triton 186ta.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of doing 1 x 24v 100ah battery versus 2 x 12v 100 amp hour batteries in series?

One 24v
CON-need a 24v charger, if the battery goes bad you may have to wait on a replacement. PRO-not sure of the size, it may save a little space.
Two 12v
PRO-if one goes bad you can sub a 12v lead acid until you get a replacement. CON-may take up a little more space than one 24v

I think I would definately go with 2 12's over 1 24 volt. So many more options if you need to switch power supply around.
I have a "one battery" Impulse Lithium 24 Volt System (60ah). One light battery makes things really simple and and the app tells you everything you need to know.

That's the status of my battery after three and a half hours of trolling at 1 mph, with light winds. Just an FYI and an example.

Using a single 24v is the way to go, no jumpers, cleaner install and less expensive.
