I just saw an old jig pic where someone had done that, and I had some old spinnerbaits that I though about scavenging the skirts off of, I just didn't know if they would be effective?
thanks

Sure they work. I've done this several times. You can also use just one or two like flash along with other material like hackle, etc..
Like Dave said, they work.
I add a little to a jig once in a while and it adds some lively action.
I have a drawer full of rubber but like the round reptile rubber the best. Great tail material.
Just look at my pic on this post . I love the stuff. Use it for spider legs on tiny jigs to a full blow tail and other things in between.
Lots of different styles and colors too!
I too use old skirts and buy the new ones when a color gets my eye. Tying with them can be a pain if you’re heavy handed like me. It took me a while to learn to lock them in and then back off the tension as I move back to keep them from flaring out too much. Trees get em more than anything else, they’re tough.
I make lots with silicone tails for both crappie and bream
I have alot of silicone legs I have purchased off EBay over the years. There use to be a guy in Michigan who sold them for a great price. I think I have ever color he ever sold.
I do sir I think they work great! Attachment 450479
