I have a pair of Dr Sliks that I like
Dr Slicks were fine when I started, have been using Loon for about 2 years now. They are very comfortable for me.

I use J. Stockard tools. I do want to get the Dr. Slick curved tip ones though.
Essential Fly Tying Tools from J. Stockard Fly Fishing
I have used Anvil for 30 years. Very comfortable in your hand. They're made in Columbus Indiana USA
I wandered through the hobby store with the wife a few years ago and found some red and black handled scissors that have the sides of the tip ground more to a point than some of the others. At $8 I figured I couldn’t go wrong and bought them. I use them upside down cuz of my big fingers but I haven’t looked back and bought a backup pair. Very sharp and easy to get in tight with them. I’ll take a pic if you want. They’re similar to fiskars in style but work better for me.
Thanks skeet. J Stockard had a sale on tying tools and I ordered a pair of their scissors and a pair of Umpqua scissors. Of course I had to try some other materials too!
When you receive them let us know how you like the scissors please, especially the Umpqua ones.
Will do SuperDave. My trout fly guru recommended them. He's been tying over 60 years and ties/sells flies commercially. Figured I should try them.:biggrin
