Rained all night last night until mid morning. When I left home at 11:00 am it was in the low fifties, and I drove the hour to the lake in a constant drizzle. But the weatherman said it was going to stop . And we all know they’re never wrong . :Rofl
This time he was right ?
I got to the boat ramp around noon to an almost calm cloudy, dry, day .
I walk down to the end of the ramp and while my fishing buddy was getting his stuff together, I tossed a homemade in-line spinner straight out using my 5’6” Daiwa Trout X. UL paired with a Daiwa Legalis LT 1000d spooled with 6# Daiwa J8 Grand braid and 4# flouroclear leader . .
About halfway in , my spinner stopped and Line started going the other way .
After a nice little battle I landed my first and only fish of the day . A nice UL bass . The largest this year and biggest in a few months .
I fished four hours throwing in-line spinners and Trout magnets , but couldn’t another fish .
Meanwhile my buddy went fishless until we changed location and I gave him one of my homemade in-line spinners.
He caught a nice spotted bass using his 5’ Uglystick UL and SOS 2# line .
It’s that time of year .
As long as we keep the skunk away , it’s a successful trip .
