Slab Sauce AND nibbles. The Slab Sauce scent stays in the embroidery thread and lasts a long time. I find that embroidery thread worked better than rubber legs for me because they are softer to the fish and feel more real. That extra second lets this old man say "Gotcha!" The nibble gives the crappie a target to aim for my friend.
