Had the opportunity today to get out and do some dock shooting with my dad. Where I like to go the deepest dock is only in 11 feet of water with surrounding as shallow as 3-5 feet but I am a firm believer that the fish follow bait and thanks to this site along with a lot of Richard Gene the fishing machine YouTube videos I have begun to study the food source and not the predator. Proof of shallow water crappie year round has not only been shown to me but experienced firsthand. My Dad who inspired my love for fishing got the opportunity to get out with me today and experience what I call the shallow water surprise. He was a little skeptical of the 5 foot of water docks but we were blessed to pull out some slabs today and it was fun! The go to hot color of the day was lights out by Bobby garland baits in itty bitty with size 8 hooks. Thanks for reading and be blessed!
