VETERANS DAY IS SPECIAL TO ME
My dad was in the army air corps from 1943-1945. He was a tail gunner on B17's and later the B29. He was in the liberation of the philippines. His plane was shot down by japanese zero's. They crashed on an island and only 2 lived. Dad woke up 3 days later in a field hospital, then put on a hospital ship and sent to a hospital in west Texas for surgery. He was crippled for life and received the purple heart and many other pins. He worked 37 years as a bus shop foreman and mechanic. He was 87 when he died on Veterans Day 2005. It's also the day I gave my life to the Lord in 1988. A special day.
