When will the rut start? (VIDEO)

I always say or tell folks when the does are ready. I found this video I thought I would share.

I've been fortunate enough to rattle in aggressive bucks and tag them from mid to late October. What a rush. Last year an aggressive buck came into a grunt call early November. Exciting for sure.

I almost caused a big fight last year on a big one I could see in a field when I gave him a few grunts , but it went backwards and the buck in the woods went to the buck in the field ....:Rofl

Keep in mind this about that , does come into heat all during season in these parts and we often have a 6 month time frame , we see them start this month and see them finish in February .
not all the does get bred here at the same time , peak here is between late october to around thanksgiving , but it isnt over at that point for sure, and begins well before that time frame and goes on long afterwards too .

I killed a 129" (5x5) buck tending a doe during bow season on October 15th a few years ago. I saw him cover her a couple of times, then she headed towards my stand site. The buck followed and I let the air out of him @ 24 yards broadside. It wasn't the peak of the rut yet, but they weren't waiting around for it to get there.

It's definitely exciting when bucks are a bit agressive, but hell, first few times it's so scary :D

Years ago I rattled in an aggressive buck. He came in all bristled up and looking for a fight. I was on the ground behind a downfall and seriously thought I was going to be in trouble. He wasn't so tough when my recurve delivered a 170gr Snuffed broad head to him though.
