Found a little shad floating today so brought him home to measure him up. He was right at 2 and 1/4 in long so decided to tie a jig like that.

Yes, I believe it's a gizzard shad.
Tied a second one with the hair facing forward and then folding it back over. This makes a more uniform body shape.
