A little creek time
Got to fish the creek for about an hour and half this morning.
The water level has dropped .
I took a 3wt fiberglass flyrod to enable me to better cover the creek .
The flyrod felt odd , clumsy, and heavy compared to the Tenkara rods I’ve been using lately .
Seemed to take more effort to cast too .
The fish I caught hit in areas I could have reached with the Tenkara rods .
The fishing was off today . I caught three redbreast on a size 12 woolybooger and a small gill on a spider fly .
I tried several flies , they just weren’t hungry I guess .
I enjoyed the time on the creek .
Not sure if that third one is a redbreast or a spotted sunfish . Or a cross .

Nice looking outfit and beautiful fish. A well spent hour and a half even if you didn't have one of your new favorites.:fish

Gillchaser, I know I’m no expert but to me they beginning to look like they got Longear genes with them long flaps. Is it possible that bluegills can cross with longear?

You went and enjoyed the time and caught a few, that’s a trip worth doing. My vote on the fish is a hybrid. Maybe from a light colored sandy area for a while but I don’t think so. Glad you got out.
