Nice to confirm that specific lures always catch fish when fish are found
I fished a local lake that is down over 3.5' due to the severe drought. Amazingly two patterns were discovered:
super shallow water in shade areas and open/deeper water 5' or less. There was a constant 8mph wind and clouds - perfect for fish aggression! Even saw minnows being chased on the surface in different areas. So that said, the best lures I could knowingly catch bass, crappie and sunfish under those conditions were soft plastics rigged on 1/16 oz or lighter ball jigs. I'd caught fish on these shapes-by-design in the past so I wanted to confirm their strike-provoking quality. I was not disappointed! Man did they get pounded!
Note: the water has a heavy green algae concentration this time of year regardless the drought, so the lures had to hit within a foot of the fish. There are no lily pads or other surface vegetation; only tree stumps and rocks.
Perfect day with 10mph wind that made fishing under a sun and clouds sky bearable.
These were caught yesterday from 10am - 3 pm, a total 38 fish not including some of the bass that jumped and excaped.

Again, every lure shape caught three species including yellow and white perch at another lake the day before.
