Trolling crankbaits

I like to troll crankbaits between 1.4 to 1.7 mph. With this year's constant wind I can't seem to keep it under 2.0 mph with the wind or above 1.2 ish against the wind. Very annoying because I have never even attempted to use crankbaits at that speed (2.0). Do any of you get that fast with any luck at all ?

i catch them from .8 to 2.4 mph
Some crankbaits work better slower such as flicker shad an some work better faster bandit an picos work better at faster speeds for me
We caught them on kentucky lake once doing 3 mph wind was kicking an fish was turned on

Wow... I guess I am off in my thinking. I usually use Flicker but in the wind I will pull out the Bandits and Normans for an experiment. Thanks for the idea [emoji846]

Experiencing the same thing..massive summer winds pushing me (often in seemingly different directions), and have not really tried against the wind

I don't think my 24 volt MK trolling motor will push my boat over 2 mph

have caught a few going about 2 mph or slightly over with the wind

The situation I described is in my "small lake" boat. 12 ft lake jon with a 12v 40# tm. Wide open I can get 3.4 mph. Just not enough range in the slow end lol

I normally run Flicker Shads or Shad Raps from 1.25 to 2.5 paddling a kayak. Also run 1/4 oz Hot N Tots around .75 to 2.25.

Husky Jerks have been good to me at slower speeds in late Winter/ early Spring. Haven't ever fished a Bandit.

Trolling for Walleyes I have caught Crappies up to 4.5 MPH open water suspended Crappies and Walleyes mixed together, using number 5 and 7 Berkley Flicker Shads and Shad Raps Jointed and straight. When weeds have not reached the surface trolling Beetle Spins just above the weeds can be a hoot, have caught Crappies, Walleyes, Northern Pike, Bass, Sunfish, and a few Musky`s ( they are not known to be a weed fish )..
