8-13-22 Saturday morning creek trip
I arrived at the creek just before ten this morning and found the water and current up .
Deeper water usually means bigger fish , but it depends on when they started releasing upstream.
I don’t know how long it takes for the fish to acclimate to the flow increase and for downstream fish to move up , but it hadn’t happened yet . :( .
I enjoyed fishing the higher water and hooked several fish , but for some reason all of them (5-6) except for one came unhooked before I could get them in .
A couple of them got off right at my feet including a nice redbreast .
The only one I was able to land was my best of the year , so far , warmouth.
Caught on a spider fly on my green 6’6” 2 Wt fiberglass combo .
I hope the flow stays up for a few weeks and I can get back .
