Fished here today with water temps 88.9 to 90 degrees, fished my regular treetop and couldn’t get anything going. Have had a rough time around here for the past two weeks catching crappie here. So I got on some points dropping off in the old river channel 25-35 feet deep pushing the caps and Coleman rig, that’s a catfish catching machine there. I caught 15-20 catfish about 12-20 inches. Not much on catfish but better than nothing.
They sure are good eating when they are that size!
Had my left hand carpal tunnel surgery today so hopefully it won’t be too long before we are able to set up a fishing trip. Been a month on my right hands surgery and it’s doing very good. Need to tell more about the cap and Coleman rig.
The minnow rig was a 1/4 oz caps and Coleman rig, a 3 way swivel at top, one arm has a 8 inch line with a Eagle claw 214el hook, other arm is tied to main line, and the third line is a 24 inch line to 1/4 oz lead, wrapped around 5 times and then 8 inches down to another 214 el hook. I hope I am explaining it correctly.

Yes it’s an interesting setup. A lot of catfish drifting setups like that. The one I like is using a float on the bottom hook line to keep it higher than the weight.
